What's an invasive species, really?
Recently, in the tree outside my back window, I’ve spotted some unusual neighbors - bright green parrots. Technically, they’re Mitred Parakeets. And they’re not from Long Beach.
These happy little green birds came from Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. Word on the street is that they were brought here in the 1980s. Technically, they’re an invasive species.
